To the hip hip hop, ya don't stop

What the picture says is true! Real hip-hop is never on the radio. Well, today it is - and for episode 12 of the Disco Dichotomy show I have a whole hour of real, intelligent, enlightening and always funky-as-a-mosquito's-tweeter hip-hop for you.

So if you've ever wanted to pull off a backspin, cut up a break or spit 16 bars of heat, or are just curious as to whether you'll find something you like - head over to www.spfradio.yage.net at 10.30pm tonight GMT - and again on Sunday 12 noon, and I'll see what I can do for you :)

See you in the chat

I do a radio!

Hello,

I had a nice pic for you but Blogger is not letting me upload it.

Anyway, it's all go around these parts - I've had a haircut, for instance, but my radio show is still going strong over at www.spfradio.yage.net even without long hair!

Not sure of the timings for this week as yet, but there's the usual hour long gallop through the genres, from reggae to techno to hip-hop to drum & bass - Basically anything that's good for the mind, body and soul together.

Don't forget you can also catch up on the past six shows over at the spiritplants archive - They can be streamed or downloaded and stuck on your MP3 player - I do love soundtracking journeys.

Anyway, I've also been working on some ideas for forthcoming 'special' shows - and can reveal that next week's (circumstances willing) will be a 'disco special' - a journey through (and juxtaposing) all kinds of disco and disco-influenced music, from the mid-seventies to the present day.

In the meantime,

Peace Off

Del

Cor, I've got an excellent show for you this week, even if I do say so myself!

It's an hour of dubstep, UK hip-hop, dreamwave, disco, punk-funk, techno, house and rave, featuring such diverse artists as Rusko, Kingdom, Bat For Lashes, The Twelves, Fake Blood, Two Door Cinema Club, The Trammps and Crookers!

The show will debut on Spiritplants Radio 1am Satutrday night, followed by your second chance to catch it at 10am Sunday morning - come join me in the chat for whichever suits you best (or both!)

Don't forget, you can now catch up with the first three shows, and stream or download them over at the ARCHIVES (Just scroll down til you get to Disco Dichotomy, isn't it?)

Peace out!

Timings

Hey,

just confirmed what time the Disco Dichotomy show with DJ Dellamorte (hiya!) is going out

Spfradio.yage.net

11.30pm-12.30am Saturday night, and 12noon-1pm Sunday.

Choose your weapon, I shall be in the chatroom for both, but I’ll probably be more sober on Sunday.

VERY EXCITING NEWS

Well, I’ve been sitting on some very exciting news for the last few weeks – I didn’t want to let anything slip before too soon, but this weekend sees my debut radio show on spfradio.yage.net – Please see the website for timings (Please remember the station is based in Boston so my UK and European crew will have to adjust the times to suit!). I’m very pleased to be accepted onto this long-running and open-minded station, and I’m hoping you’ll like what I’ve put together – I’ve tried to put as much variety as possible into one hour. Tracklisting and link to archive will be forthcoming! There will be a chatroom on the site during the show so if you’re listening LIVE then come and say hello – Chatroom massive!

In the meantime you can follow me on Twitter - @djdellamorte – or email me for shout-outs, comments, suggestions and the like at djdellamorte@gmail.com

Let’s do this!

No way!

Has it nearly been two months since the last Dichotomy? No way no way! Well, it appears so, and here I am again to remedy that particular sickness of the ears. It's been a strange old time in the last couple of months, some bad things and some good, but there's been no shortage of excellent music coming my way, so I thought I'd share some with you.

This one takes in dreamwave, electro, cosmic disco, techno, UK funky, breakbeat, wobble house, funk and hip-hop along the way. and I done a tracklisting this time!

Please enjoy

TARDY!

Well, yes, after promising speedier updates at the start of Feb, I characteristically managed to not post until near the end of March! Go me! Lots has been happening in the interim, not least the setting up of my new night, co-founded with DJ AKA, entitled Play Records, happening at the Jam Bar in Shoreditch, 9th April 8pm-1am. and it's FREE!! More on this later, however, as this is the ~drumroll~ REBOOT of Dellamorte's Disco Dichtomy podcast. It's a reboot as, from here on, all podcasts and mixes are entirely live on my clever new set-up, and without my slightly confused voice meandering all over them and getting my words wrong.

Without further ado, Please enjoy DDD: The Reboot.

Carbon Count

Hello people,

Last night I guested on my good friend Will Gibson's podcast, which you can find here . He's a lovely chap, with great taste and some fine hair, even if he does insist on only referring to me by my birthname....

anyways, I'm having a busy busy week this week, but at some point in the next 7 days I am going to be posting the first 'specialised and shorter' DDD podcast, which will be a hip-hop special, full of beats, rhymes and 'flava'.

Check yourselves before you riddly wreck yourselves, kids.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes

So, the winds of change are blowing (hard) around these parts. After much delibration and consultation I have decided to change up a little with the podcasts - They are going to be shorter, more varied (I aim to do 'specials', such as, say, hip-hop or disco-only specials, as well as my usual anything-goes approach), and, best of all, more frequent.

Keep em peeled - Not quite sure what's coming next, but it's coming soon.
Black Plastic!!!!!

Hey kids! Stuck for something to do this weekend?

WHY NOT COME TO BLACK PLASTIC? where you will find those wonderful DJ ladies Jo Cliche and Suicide Ally spinning the best post-punk/electro/new-romantic/indie pop that money can buy, and also one DJ Dellamorte jumping about on the dancefloor like a fool.

You could also buy me a pint.

Just a little DiscoelectrodreamwavefrenchhouseEBMpop mix

Here's a cheeky little mix I threw together the over night for fun, under the pretence of 'working'. A journey through electropop, disco, french house, dreamwave, punk funk and so on - nothing too 'clubby', just nice and blissed out for the most part.

Enjoy!
